Kelly Squires is a Melbourne-based artist who works primarily in painting and drawing. She studied at the University of Tasmania and University of Melbourne earning degrees in Fine Art (Painting), Art History, and Art Curatorship.
Her work explores overlapping themes of memory, physical and psychological spaces, and the intersection of architectural forms with the more complex organic shapes found in nature. She is also interested in visual perception and how as an artist one makes sense of what is observed and then reinterpreted through memory, colour, and mark-making.
Kelly has been showing her work since 2021, and has featured in exhibitions at Generator Gallery at Belconnen Art Centre ACT, Linden New Art Gallery, Brunswick Street Gallery, Red Gallery and part of Sydney’s infamous Incignito Art Show.
This is her first solo exhibition.
